I am linking up with Andrea and Erika as usual. Can’t wait to read your posts!

Happy Friyay everyone!

Woah! What a weeks its been! Lets recap the weekend really quick…

I tagged along with Kyle on an overnight work trip to Maryland on last Friday night. The trip down took about 3 and a half hours and once we got to the Hilton Garden Inn, we both hit the pillows and didn’t wake up until the 6 AM alarm went off. Kyle left bright and early for his job; I stayed behind to get the full use of the amenities the hotel had to offer. The gym was perfect for an early morning run, the showers had good water pressure and the lobby (where I spent most of the day) had fantastic guests to people watch. After he got done with his job, he picked me up and we were on the way to Kennett’s Square, Pennsylvania, about a 2 and a half hour ride. This specific destination was to view the Light exhibit at Longwood Gardens later that evening.

I drove from Maryland to Pennsylvania to give Kyle time to write the report and nap. I put on a full car karaoke performance for those two hours and I was so excited to drive through a tunnel (Baltimore Harbor Tunnel). We arrived in Kennett’s Square ready for dinner to find a mushroom festival was happening on the street where our restaurant was. Color us shocked. This festival even had mushroom hats! We couldn’t help but giggle. Dinner was okay; we are 0 for 2 for restaurants in Kennett’s Square. From there we made the short drive to Longwood Gardens and it did not disappoint! I have a full post on our time at Longwood coming on Sunday and let me just say, its super colorful!

We got done with Longwood Gardens around 9 PM and then we started are last part of our whirlwind adventure back home. By 11:30 PM, we were back in Jersey ready to go to bed. What a fun and exciting 24 hours!

We slept in on Sunday (wouldn’t you?!) and then did a few things around the house, some errands, a walk in the park and then finally cooked dinner and watched the finale of Blown Away Season 3! OH MY GOSH! SO GOOD! I really hope there is a season 4!

This past week has been great…

I have still been running each day. Wednesday I decided to run after work instead of the morning because I was tired. I had the privilege to see a really beautiful sunset, too. I went to yoga again this week and just catching up with life and friends. I have been feeling pretty good physically and mentally lately and its a really nice feeling. I hope it stays for a while.

OH! How can I forget about the Queen passing away. She truly lived a full life and what a legacy she has left behind (not to mention the jewels, clothes and adorable corgis!) Its nice to see William, Kate, Megan and Harry all back together again.

I did a little online shopping this week:

Nine West Work Pants/// I found these on a whim at Kohl’s and they are so darn comfortable and the perfect length. The fabric washes well and the black color is still black after many washes.

Lucky Brand Emmie Flats/// I have been on a hunt for new flats since some of mine look tired. I found these on Macy’s website and when they arrived I slipped them on and OH MY GOSH! They are so comfortable. I had to re-order them in a larger size and in multiple colors. I cannot wait to wear these!

Micheal Kors Shooties/// When I popped into Macy’s to return the too small flats, I buzzed through the shoe department and found these adorable Shooties. It took all the willpower in me not to buy them.

I found a few articles this week I wanted to share with you:

Pete Davidson’s Sister 9/11 Tribute /// Over the weekend was the 21st anniversary of September 11th. I wrote about my thoughts and feelings on this anniversary. Pete Davidson’s Sister, Casey, posted a sweet tribute on Instagram to her dad.

Family On World Tour/// This is a sweet story about a family from Canada who is going on a world tour with their kids before the kids lose their sight. They wanted to be sure their child experience life to the fullest and see everything.

Queen’s Corgis/// My mom and I had this discussion about this exact topic shortly after the Queen passed.  I volunteered to take them but I was clearly not the only one on the adoption list.

Forgot to share in my Everyday Products I love:

Covergirl Clean Fresh Tinted Lip Balm/// I wear this lip balm with my Nivea in “You’re the Pom”. This is hands down my favorite tinted lip balm I’ve found. I wear it each day and the color lasts long too! (Considering I am consistently drinking water or coffee!) I have it in a few colors but “You’re The Pom” is my favorite.

One last thing before I go..

As I was leaving work yesterday, I was chatting with my mom and I turned on the street from the parking garage and all of the sudden, I see police cars on both sides of the road, parked haphazordly on the sidewalk, uniform and plain clothed officers milling around and then I happen to look to my left as I am driving through the scene to find 3 officers in SWAT gear. I had a moment where I didn’t know what to say nor how to describe it to my mom. I was in shock and SO curious what was happening. I wanted to pull over and stand with the officers to get the inside scoop! #nosynellie

This weekend should be calm and relaxing. I am loving this cooler weather and cannot wait to wear all my fall clothes.

  1. I love Longwood! One of my goals for the fall is to get back there because I haven't been since the spring. Thanks for reminding me about the light show! Also, lol at the mushroom hats! Mushrooms and flowers, that's literally all I know about Kennett Square, so your adventure sounds very on-brand. 😀

  2. That sounds like such a fun overnight trip! I can't wait to see your longwood gardens post… and now I want to know what happened on that street to warrant SWAT and all those police! LOL I too am a nosy nellie.
