Friday’s Joy

Hi friends!  I am linking up with Erika and Andrea today for FriYAY favorites.
This has been such a great week that was full of sand, sun and all the activities.

Week In Review
The biggest thing that happened this past week was my BIRTHDAY! I turned 35 on Sunday! My parents and I celebrated by going to Jenkinson’s Aquarium on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk. I hadn’t been in many years and my parents hadn’t been in decades. We made sure to get there for opening because the seals were going to be fed at 10 AM and we wanted to see that. They unfortunately don’t have a birthday discount but they did have a birthday sticker! I was so excited! We hurried upstairs to see the seal feeding. Lucille and Navi live together and they were so cute!
After the feeding we had some time before the penguin feeding. We looked at all the different tanks that were filled with all different and unique types of fish. It was SO joyful to be there, even if I was the oldest child. HA! We took a bunch of family photos too! Everyone there was so kind- they offered to take our photo!  The penguins were so feisty! They did not like what was on the menu and they made it known!

After our time at the aquarium, I wanted to go on the beach to look for shells. Since our trip to IBSP earlier in the month, I decided to collect shells each time I go to the beach and put them in a mason jar. (The shells are currently sitting in ziplock bags on my dresser but I have plans to put them in a mason jar.) The waves were so big! The roar of the ocean took my breath away. It was really neat to see and hear. Again, I will say, I love going to the beach in the winter; its magical.

We walked on the boardwalk for a little before stopping in the arcade to play skee-ball. I don’t think there was ever a trip I took to the boardwalk where I didn’t play skee-ball. Mom and I played a few rounds. We all took part in a life size hungry hungry hippo game. It was so funny. We sat on a hippo and we controlled its mouth and (not) surprisingly mom won! I gathered up all the tickets and made my way over to the prize counter. I was so proud of those tickets. I had 1,000 tickets to spend. It was such a hard choice LOL I ended up with a blue hippo, a sticky balloon animal, 5 bracelets and a pink super bouncy ball. I couldn’t truly be happier.

We left the boardwalk and made our way to lunch- pizza and garlic knots. We were home by 5 and I put comfy clothes on and hopped in bed to do some word search puzzles and watch Greek. It was the best way I could have spent my birthday!
My work week has been good, getting a lot of loose ends tied up and getting things done. This week I have been feeling extra productive and it really makes me happy.
I went to Gravity Vault on Tuesday night for climbing and yoga. I really have been enjoying this combination. Gravity Vault sets new boulders on Monday’s so there is always something new and challenging to try. I was climbing a V1 and I was about half way up the wall and I brought my leg up and I didn’t see a tiny foothold but my knee did and boy, that hurt! I had a take a moment to collect myself. Before yoga, a took a look at my knee to see the damage and there was a nice large ugly colored bruise. HA! That sure woke me up. Yoga was really great at and I left Gravity Vault that night with a smile on my face, chalk in my hair, a new bruise and a feeling of contentment.
Wednesday night I went to McDonald’s for a snack-atizer. They were celebrating the Chicken McNugget’s 40th birthday and they were giving away free 6 piece Chicken McNuggets. Weirdly enough, I’ve never had them before and I also never had the sweet and sour sauce and I felt like this was the perfect time to try it. OH MY GOSH! What have I been missing?! It was soo good! I was pleasantly surprised.
After my snack-atizer, I went to Starbucks for a bit to work on WGJ. I love sitting in a coffee shop to work- the people watching is always on point and it gives me motivation to get stuff done. I was shocke to see how many people came in a 6:30 PM to get coffee. Does these people not sleep? I could not even think about drinking coffee after 4 PM. HA!
Overall, it’s been a great week!
