Friday’s Joy

Hi friends! I am linking up with Erika and Andrea this week for Friday Favorites! I am looking forward to reading your posts!

Wowie! What a week it’s been around here

Week in Review

There was a big storm predicted for Saturday. I spent the morning with Adrienne with a tough session (hello pushups!) then off to Keith’s before the storm. I hit some rain on the way but it wasn’t too terrible.

I arrived without incident and we caught up for a bit then we headed out for a few errands. The rain was at this point was that annoying mist where you can’t really turn your windsheild wipers on because there isn’t enough rain just yet.

Our first stop was the local jeweler to look at Claddagh rings for me and to get his Claddagh ring resized. This was a HUGE deal for me; a HUGE deal for the both of us.. I was really excited to see what this store had and we ended up having a great experience at Family & Co. Jewelers. The funniest part of our time in the jewelry store was when I was trying on these rings, my hand was shaking like a leaf, so much so that Keith noticed it and asked if I was alright. (Great job keeping it calm, cool and collected Spano!) We left there with a pretty new piece of jewelry for me and his ring was being in the process of being resized.

Clearly depicts (pun intended) my shaky hand

Next stop was Target! Keith was on the hunt for Skittles Jelly Beans. I grabbed a cart and we wandered through the dollar spot and then I did a quick looksee in the clothes section. We made our way to the Lego section where he picked up something shiny and new for himself- The Marvel Infinity Gauntlet Lego set. He was very pleased! HA! after a lap around the store we were on our way.

Joann’s fabric was right in the same shopping center. We popped in to see if they had any more skeins of the Big Twist Tubular Yarn to finish the hand knitted blanket I was working on. To our luck, they had 3 skeins of the black that I wanted. We ended up buying a blue skein since there was a sale buy 3 get one free. I was so excited! I jokingly said to Keith at the cash register, hand made does not always equal cheaper. HA!

We came out of Joann’s and I suggested since it was around lunchtime we should go to Chick-Fil-A since it was right here. Before we knew it we were on our way home with our goodies ready for a relaxing afternoon. Lunch was delicious and we watched a few episodes of Outerbanks and the Mets game.

During the Mets game, I decided to tackle my handknitted blanket. The first order of business was to undue the original blanket. There were holes in it from dropped stitches and it was a weird size. I used a blanket that was about the size I want it to be as a guide and I went to town. FOUR skeins of tube yarn later, I finished the edge to keep it from unraveling. I told Keith, I think I need two more skeins and it will be perfect.

While I was doing that, Keith was diligently putting together the hand and I have to admit it came out really neat! We had this perfect for us afternoon.

The sky looked perfect all afternoon, we were super hopeful about Grounds for Sculpture later that evening BUT then the tornado watches started coming in and we saw the storm roll in. Nope we were not moving from the apartment. We were both bummed about missing Nightforms but we both want to be safe than sorry. AND if you have been to Grounds for Sculpture, you know there is no cover anywhere.  We made lemonade out of lemons and watched more of Outerbanks.

On Sunday morning, we went to Palm Sunday service and Easter bunny breakfast afterwards. The mass was very pretty and yes, we were the only ones without children there but the Knights of Columbus did such a great job with the food! We were really impressed and it was a really sweet time.

We headed back to the apartment for the commencement of LAZY Sunday. We plopped onto the couch to watch more Outerbanks. At this point, we are so close to Season 3 we can almost taste it!

Keith said he was going to make lunch and asked me if I wanted some. I said “nahhh, I’m good.” Well a few snarky comments from me, Keith walks over with a plate of dinosaur chicken nuggets and said “here.” He knows me too well. He knew I was hangry and he acted accordingly. HA!

Keith wanted to watch the Mets game for a bit to see the new pitcher. I agreed knowing I was getting tired so I figured a little nap wouldn’t hurt. I covered myself with my handknitted blanket which ended up feeling like a lightweight weighted blanket (if that makes sense- it was heavy but not suffocating). I turned over and poof I awoke three hours later. Keith was still watching the game, which was just ending. I couldn’t believe I slept for so long! I rarely take naps.

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a long walk. We did a lap around the complex then we ventured to a few new to us neighborhoods across the street. I love our walk and the conversations that come with them. I felt like a million bucks, a nap and a long walk?! Best afternoon ever. Our weekend was one for the books and it was perfectly us.

Work has been steady this week, keeping me on my toes each day. I love the variety of work I do and I feel like I am learning something new each day, even after 12 years.

Tuesday was GOREGOUS. Took myself for a walk on lunch and I didn’t want to come back. I found two lucky pennies to add to my collection on my walk too!

Wednesday was rainy and super duper foggy. I am pretty sure I did not leave my office at all.

Thursday was close to 80 degrees so I had to take advantage of the beautiful weather. An almost 2 mile walk was the perfect way to break up my fake Friday.

Love Letter to New Girl/// I am pretty sad about New Girl leaving Netflix. New Girl was a great background show- you know those shows you can put on and listen to while you do something else? Also I might be Jess Day in real life.

Unreleased Chase Rice song/// I have loved Chase Rice’s music since his debut 10+ years ago and this song is GOOD! I love how he knows that Eric Church has inspired him and he gives credit where it’s due.

Liquid Trees?/// Now this is just plain weird and it totally reminds me of Flubber!

Beauty in the Broken/// This is SO creative. Why is it when something is broke, we think its ugly. This artist is flipping the script and make broken into beautiful. I think we can all take a moment to appreciate this.

No SHIRT Sherlock!/// Starbuck’s clearly didn’t do nearly enough real life testing on this new drink. the SHIRT has been hitting the fan and fans are not happy. This actually made me laugh.

It’s Easter weekend!

Keith is at opening day at Citi Field to see the Mets play and I am doing errands and getting ready for the fun weekend!

I am so excited for Easter service then Easter dinner with my parents and Keith. I am really hoping for a Easter Egg Hunt this year!
