I love finding out what people keep in their purses and how they organize them. Call me nosy but its a neat look into what other people’s thought process is.
I have been trying to pare-down what I carry day to day. I’ve gone from carrying a very large purse to now something really simple and small. I went from carrying the what felt like the world to carrying only the basics. I think with age, comes knowledge and now that I am in my mid-thirties, I have realized that I don’t need access to everything all at once.
First up, the purse itself.
I found this bag at Khol’s back in 2017. Its a LC Lauren Conrad Ring Convertible Cross body Bag. I really liked it but didn’t buy it immediately. What drew me to it was that I can wear it as a cross body bag OR take the strap off and use it as a handbag. I eventually ended up buying it a few weeks later and I only it wore it on the weekends in the beginning because at that time I was still toting around a large bag. I loved the color- which is for me a neutral and it matched everything. After 5 years, I am sure getting my monies worth from it, after 5 years.
SINCE the pandemic happened, I started bringing less to work in my bag and I am really happy it has stuck ever since. I can easily organize it and find things quickly.
Here the view I see when I am looking in my purse:
Looks like a mess right? But I am able to find everything I need to quickly and its pretty organized. When you take everything out, you will see that there is a method to the chaos
As you can see I only carry the basics and a few extra things. I carry these items plus or minus a few each day depending on what I am doing. As I am writing this post, I am tagging along with Kyle on a work trip (THANK YOU Hilton Garden Inn for the background for these photos!) so not included in the photo is the room key, do not disturb sign, a receipt and various candy wrappers.
Lets take a closer peek a few items:
This green pouch has to be one of my absolute favorite find from the dollar store recently. I *think*its supposed to be for school since I found it in the school supply section. BUT how adorable is he?! He holds pens, pencils and other tiny random things I don’t want lost.
A mini nail file, blister block and a hairbrush are necessary especially when travelling. The two tubes of chapstick are my go to lately. The blue is just an everyday balm by Nivea and the pink is from Covergirl Clean Fresh tinted lip balm in “You’re the Pom” Its the best everyday color.
The Coach wristlet serves as my wallet. Its the perfect size and it holds just what I need. I can also just grab it if I am running into somewhere quick. The blue patterned pouch holds my first aid things- band aids and other essentials. My large Lilly Pulitzer key ring allows me to find my keys so quick!
So that’s what’s in my purse. I sometimes take a bigger one and sometimes I just use the wristlet, depending on the situation.
If you want a throwback, you can find a Whats in my bag? post from 2015 when I linked up with Bailey from BraveLove Blog.
OH! I also have to share this meme with you because its way too relatable:
