Friday’s Joy

Happy friYAY friends! I am linking up with Erika and Andrea today; I can’t wait to read your posts!
Rodent saw his shadow yesterday. I really hope its not true BUT the literal bright spot is that we have made it through the worst part of the dark winter. We are on the upswing. Soon we will be back to 9 PM sunsets. WAHOO!

Week In Review

I am finally feeling better! WAHOO! That was a totally unexpected and not planned break. My parents were healthy and fine; my friends who I saw the previous weekend were okay too! So weird!
I had a lot of down time in my room, which was really nice. I was able to sit back, relax and watch some terrible TV. I ended up watching 18 episodes of Siesta Key. I honestly don’t know how I lasted 18 hours. It was not like Laguna Beach- It was worst! HA! I ended my downtime, rewatching for the 12493 time, The Office. I think I got through 4 seasons.
I also got A LOT of blog work done that I had neglected throughout the month. YAY! You will find a bunch of new posts on the right side under January 2023. They include Word of the Year 2023, 12 in 12: The Plan and Affirmations for 2023. I was really proud to get these done. I am re-energized for my February Posts. I am excited to share what I have up my sleeve.
When I got back to work on Tuesday (after being out 5 work days), I had 57 emails and 30 missed calls and a pile of mail. EEP! I slowly but surely made my way through the emails, voicemails and physical mail and I felt like yesterday, I have a good hold on what needs to be done right now and what can wait. I still have a LOT to do but at least my days will be flying by the next week or so.
I am so excited that its a new month! Like in the beginning of the year, I feel excited for this short month. I know I have a lot to pack in but I am ready for it.
I took time off from exercising this week; I missed it and thought about going to yoga last night but I think, one full week off and I will be good as new to get back into my routine. I actually missed it!
One last random note: Does anyone still use Pinterest anymore? I love scrolling through it to get ideas. Its one of my favorite search engines. If you do, follow me! I pin a lot of quotes and happy things.

Links
SnowJoe/// This is the best snowbrush I’ve ever seen. Mama got this for us a few years ago and it remains to be my favorite. Super lightweight BUT it can really move snow!
What now, Jersey?/// “An unforseen snag” is why Jersey could not replace Milltown Mel for this year’s Groundhog Day festivities. HAHAHA

Seal Pup doing Better/// The female seal pup that was rescued in Brigantine in December is doing remarkably better! Her respiratory issues have cleared up and she’s now eating up to 9lbs of fish a day! The best part of this seal pup- her heart shaped nose! Go see her cute face for yourself!
Do The Things You Love/// These five words come down to how to make yourself overall happy. Who knew money alone does not lead you to happiness. This makes total sense to me- doing things that bring you joy makes you happier and a more enjoyable person. Interesting survey from billionaires.
Sew What?!/// Great job Philly! The free library of Philadelphia is making space for crafters and people who want to learn how to craft….for free!

Looking ahead
Going to the movies tonight, the first time in forever. I am seeing “Knock At The Cabin.” It’s based off a book by Paul Trembley titled The Cabin at the End of the World. It was creepy and weird, and I am kinda excited to see it. I know its going to be scary but I know what happens and that is usually the scary part- not knowing.
Big freeze this weekend. I am assuming that the big freeze that Texas had earlier this week is coming my way.  My parents and I were supposed to go to the Fire and Ice Festival at the New Egypt Flea Market but we don’t want to literally freeze. HA
I am seeing my favorite gastroenterologist next week too! Is it weird I am excited to see him? Even though I am feeling great, I am always happy to go in for a check in and chat with him.
Back to yoga and exercise next week too! I sure did miss it!

[[Sometimes it ends up different and it is better that way]]

PS. OH! Earlier this week, I saw an announcement from Nike & Tiffany’s about their sneaker collaboration and I was really excited. Then they released what they were going to look like and I was sad. They are ugly; They could have done better.  I put together the release and my favorite Taylor Thomlinson meme and it fits my sentiments exactly. What are your thoughts on this collaboration?!

  1. So glad you're feeling better! I use Pinterest ALL the time; like seriously almost nightly scrolling while watching TV. BUT I hadn't followed you before now.
