2023 Book Reviews

This is a post I did not think I would be writing!

Going into 2023, I did not set a reading goal. I had quit reading in June of 2022 and I didn’t think I would pick up any book in 2023. To my surprise, I felt an urge to read again in November.

For a very long time, I correlated reading to being sick; when I was in a season of bad flares with Crohn’s Disease, reading would be the one thing that would bring me joy. SO now, when I am feeling well, reading is hard for me.

I was happy when I picked up a book and started to read again. This time when I was reading, I was pairing it with something good- the gym. I would go to the gym in the morning and walk on the treadmill for 40 minutes and read for those 40 minutes. It really was making me happy.

Without further ado, the moment you were eager to read about, I read THREE books! yay!

The Sorority Murder by Allison Brennan ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a great twisty, thriller suspense book. There were some parts that were really out there BUT I really enjoyed this.

Family of Liars by E. Lockhart ⭐⭐⭐

This is a prequel to We Were Liars, which I read back in 2016. Both books were odd, and I didn’t have high hopes for this one. Its weird to me that the prequal came out 8 years after the original book. I guess that is what the author wanted.

Inside Threat by Matthew Quirk⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my favorite book out of the three. It was also the longest one too. There were so many twists and turns and it kept me guessing to the very end. Even when it ended, I wanted more. I am not sure where I found this title, but I am sure glad I did.

WOW! There you have it, the books I read in the last two months of the year.

You can always stay on top of what I am reading, and what I am adding to my To Read List on Goodreads
