Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Did anyone else’s week just completely fly by for no apparent reason. I wasn’t super busy this week nor was I do anything out of the ordinary. It just felt like it was moving at the speed of light. The beautiful weather this week made me so happy. As I am writing this (Wednesday evening), I am sitting in the library watching Downtown Crusin’ night on the street across from the library. For as long as I could remember, I loved looking at all of the old cars. The bright colors, the whitewall tires, the classic lines. There is just something about those cars that made me smile.

This week, I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for my Friday Favorites. I am looking forward to reading your favorites too!
This week, I am giving you all the feels: nostalgia, heart broken, amazement, giggles and awe.

Nostalgia/// Does anyone remember Jem? I was obsessed with her as kid. When an article from Mental Floss popped up in my news feed that mentioned Jem, I couldn’t click on it fast enough. I learned so much from this article. I am pretty sure Jem inspired me to ask for a drum set for Christmas one year. How neat and nostalgic!
Heart Broken/// Just be warned, by clicking on this link, you should not be in public because you are going to cry that ugly cry you do. This story from Love What Matters made me cry and I just couldn’t stop the tears. I have warned you but go read this story, this is a great example of true and unrelenting love.
Amazement/// the 100-trillionth digit in pi. let that sink in- 100 TRILLIONTH! The person who accomplished this did it using a computer that did it in 157 days, SHE broke her old record which was when she previously found 31.4 trillionth digit in 2019. It is truly hard for me to wrap my head around this news. The fact that it was a woman who did this rocks ever more. As the Spice Girls (and 8 year old me) would say, GIRL POWER!
Giggles 1 & 2/// Gru and his team of adorable Minions are back at it again in a new movie called: Minions:The Rise of Gru. This franchise has consistently kept me entertained and while Despicable Me 3 (the 80s one) was my least favorite, it still have everything that I loved in it. AND!!! After a quick google search to find out which one was the 80s one, I found there is going to be a Despicable Me 4!!! YAY! Enjoy the giggles.
Awe/// I love Blake Lively. I think she is a great role model (along with her hubby, Ryan Reynolds) and she’s an equally great actress. Vogue has Blake go back to 2005 to the present to talk about 19 looks she has worn. She looks great in anything and the fact that this video is super recent that it includes this years Met Gala look is even better. I loved when she talked about the composition of the dress and how she “patina-ed” on the carpet just like the Statute of Liberty.
This weekend I am hoping to get outside to help mama plant some flowers, and enjoy the sunshine. I also plan on trying to squeeze in a bike ride and working my way through the Couch to 5K app to get acclimated before it starts with the town at the end of the month.
Did you miss any of my posts this week-
What are your plans for the weekend?
