I am linking up with Andrea and Erika as usual. Can’t wait to read your posts!

What a week this has been! Lots to share with you today friends! Lets just jump right in!

1.    I have been playing around with the look of my blog and I finally figured out how not to have the photos overlap the right menu! Small wins!! I am looking for a new design… is etsy the best place to find those?! Let me know in the comments below.

2.    Weekend Recap:
Kyle and I spent Saturday afternoon organizing all the things around his house. Kitchen, dining room, garage, his car, and his closet. It felt so good to accomplish all those things but it was tiring! We were go go go for a long time and then when I finally sat down, I didn’t want to get back up! We felt all the good vibes after we straightened and organized everything. We slept really really well that night!

Perfect Brunch

Sunday was our day out. We went to brunch with my parents at the Waterfront and sat outside. It was a perfect Sunday morning on the water. The weather was everything you want when you are dining outside- sunny, blue sky, slight wind and great views. We all gobbled our breakfast up and then Kyle and I hit the road to go to Grounds for Sculpture. I am doing a post on G.F.S. on Monday but let me tell you, its amazing! If you are in the tri-state area, go! You will not be disappointed. After a few hours at G.F.S. we stopped to get a drink at the Nottingham Tavern; it was a neighborhood bar that was perfect for what we wanted. Lots of locals.  We made our way home to clean up a bit, make dinner (yummy filet mignon from Trader Joes and some veggies) and then we were off to Asbury Park.  The Sea.Hear.Now Festival was last weekend. Google it, if you have no idea what I am talking about. Its pretty rad but also super expensive. Green Day was headlining Sunday night and we went to go see them, for free. We made our way as close as we could to the boardwalk. We walked over a few blocks and we found ourselves in line with the stage that was on the beach. We were able to see the big screens and hear everything perfectly. Kyle was loving it! I knew a few of their songs and they sure did put on a great show! There was a large group of us who just were jamming out to the music and enjoying being outside. It was crazy but really fun! We didn’t get back to Kyle’s until almost 11:30! On a school night! HA!

Our view at the Green Day Concert

Overall it was a great weekend filled with a nice balance of family, work and fun.

3.    I joined a new gym this week! Back in June, I decided to let my gym membership lapse because I figured I would be able to get exercise in, in other ways during the Summer. It was a great and active Summer and I didn’t miss the gym. Now its the Fall, the days are not as long as they used to be and with me running everyday, I needed somewhere to go that I could feel safe when I was running. (#RunforEliza) I considered all the gyms in the area and ended up going with Retro Fitness. I had been a private gym girl for YEARS! The one I went to was pretty bare bones but it served its purpose well! I liked it but I was itching for something different. Retro Fitness’ hours were perfect for me and the location was also a big factor especially when I would be running before work. I have gone every day this week ( 5:30 AM club!) and I am very happy. I have a fitness assessment on Saturday morning and I am so curious to see what they are going to say! Also getting to see the sunrise each morning too!

4.   Fall is here! YAY!

5.    Funny things I say:

On our way to G.F.S., we pass a farm stand where leading up to the farm stand, there are yard signs advertising what they were selling. One of the signs said “Jams and Jellies”. I saw that, paused then looked over to Kyle and said (with a completely straight face) ” I wonder if those Jams and Jellies are the ones Gru and the Minions made” He looked over at me, with a straight face and all i could do was just burst out and start laughing. He shook his head and focused back on the road. I know what he was thinking “What in the world happens in the mind of hers!?”

6.    I found some interesting articles this week:

Kristin Cavallari/// Big Laguna Beach fan here and I have been listening to the “Back to the Beach with Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari” Podcast and I have really grown to love Kristin. She is much more than the blonde mean girl on one of the first reality shows. She has proven herself to be a really savvy business woman.

Hardy Acceptance Speech/// I love Hardy. He might not be your typical Country star but that’s why I enjoy his music. He won Songwriter of the year last week and he shared a story about his early days. It truly shows how something small can give you fuel to succeed.

International Dot Day/// I follow an art teacher on Instagram (@Cassie_Stephenz) and her school had a DOT DAY. What is Dot Day? I am so happy you asked: Its a day to visually see that you have made your mark. There’s a book and activities and plain old fun.  Sure, its probably

Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral/// This was such a sad occasion and the pomp and circumstance around it was really breathtaking. I loved reading all the hidden details in the Queen’s Funeral. How many of these did you notice?

Mega Millions Mystery Winners///1.34 Billion Dollars! Can you imagine?! I love how these two people have remained anonymous and they took the lump sum which is a mere 780.5 MILLION dollars! I hope these two people need this money and they will do something good with it. ALSO they should just take a million and go crazy!

OKAY! I think that is enough of my rambles, considering its almost 11 PM on Thursday. I need my sleep to be able to get up and get to the gym THEN function at work. HA!

Looking forward to the weekend: continuing birthday celebrations for Mom and seeing Kyle. How in the world is next week already the end of September?! What are you up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. It really does sound like a perfect brunch along the water! What a busy weekend you had. I have such a hard time staying up late "on a school night."
